I just wondered if anyone else experienced Raynaud's Syndrome with their TMS? Raynaud's Syndrome is a condition where the ciruclation to your extremities (hands and feet) is restricted and your hands or feet get extremely cold and numb. I get this all the time. I don't know whether it is a side feature of TMS or whether the syndrome aggravates TMS? Perhaps someone can give me some advice as my hands go almost blue they get so cold (even if I am at home in a warm room) . |

Posted - 01/30/2006 : 09:13:22 Hi there,
This is my only TMS symptom! I've had headaches, back problems, RSI, urinary problems over the years etc but this is the only one I've still got. I'm 100% sure that it is TMS, it comes and goes at particular times as a conditioned response to things. I think the reason I've got it in my hands is because I'm a pianist and when I play my hands become cold to the degree where it actually becomes difficult to play, although now it has spread to general stressful situations. I am uncovering quite a lot of issues to do with anger that I think may have come from a childhood where I needed to do well musically to make my parents proud etc. I have recently made the decision to try and make a career in music and it is affecting me a lot. There is this undercurrent of 'i've got to be the best' and putting myself under huge pressure to succeed - the cold hands are really not a surprise when I think about all the emotional aspects that go with that. |

Posted - 01/30/2006 : 08:06:42 I have self diagnosed Raynaud's Phenomenon , at least I think it's called that. I guess it doesn't matter if it's a syndrome or phenomenon ! My hands overreact to cold or stress situations at times , but my feet don't seem to. My fingers will actually turn white and become quite numb, and I usually relieve them by running warm water over them. It is not unusual , I hear it all the time when I shake hands with someone , " Boy ! Your hands sure are cold ! I have had it for as long as I can remember. |
