So I think I'm coming to this realization. I think I can make symptoms appear. For instance, this whole thing started when I was in Vegas and had one too many Corona's with lime. Well I had a bad case of heartburn and ended up in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. After that, I had what I thought was heartburn (pain in chest, cramps, etc) no matter what pill I took. I worried constantly about it b/c my dad had esophageal cancer.

Anyway, after eventually getting over that, i stopped all medication and it just went away. Now, when I hear a friend has lymphoma, I look up some symptoms and bam, the next day the glands in my armpit are tender to touch.

I hear lupus makes your joints hurt and my knees are kililng me the next day. My uncle complains his diabetes is causing his feet to burn and my feet burn that night.

The most recent episode. I went to the dermatologist because my skin was dry and cracking on my hands. She said it looks like eczema. I worry about it the rest of the day and now it feels like my hands are on fire with sharp nerve pains thrown in for good measure.

To me, it's almost a good thing. It just goes to justify how my thoughts can create physical symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this?

I know symptoms moving around is a classic TMS symptom with only reaffirms that this is what really is going on withe me.

This is totally me. I was mad about being forced into something I didn't like, went for a long walk, heard about plantar fasciitis on tv that evening, woke up the next day with pain in both feet. Couldn't walk for than a few feet for nearly two years. Just plain ridiculous.

For sure this experience helped prove to me that I am the cause of vast majority of my own pain symptoms. So I guess I can thank TMS for that.

Interested in self help for TMS though working with "parts" (sub-personalities)? More info here: http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/forums/parts-therapy-and-ifs-internal-family-systems.34/ There's a Mailing List you can join and also a Saturday Call In if you have questions (details on the Resources sticky).

step 1: stop googling
step 2: stop googling
step 3: stop googling
step 4: repeat, starting with step 1 :)

the only thing googling should be used for is getting reviews on a restaurant you haven't tried.

I was a googler---never cured anything---I did however contract paranoia from the keyboard
hope this helps
