I've been experiencing a return of TMS pain over the past 4 weeks after being pain free for over a year. My biggest barrier to relief is often fear of the pain. Today while running a mantra came to me..."I am relaxed and I'm pain-free." I repeated this over and over to myself (out loud under my breath) throughout the whole hour long run. I think it helped. Just putting that out there. And posting here always seems to help me...
This reminds me co-counselling. As I recall, you come up with a mantra that opposes whatever thoughts or feelings you don't want to have. So your mantra makes perfect sense!
One of the people who used those mp3's was 60 year old William Sichel, who recently ran 472 miles in 6 days at the Across the Years event out in Arizona.
I'm an ultra guy myself. I've got Eason's book, and I plan to purchase the mp3's. The way I view it, it's another way to be actively indifferent to tms.
