Hi there, I have just discovered about TMS last week and know that this is responsible for my current (but subsiding) back pain, and pains of the past. I am fully on board with 'pshycological, not physical' and am not afraid to move around and push my movement as the pain subsides.
However, the incredible spasm which my back and other muscles into, which was/is very real and physical, is still present (it is pulling me over and forward and also creating a large lateral shift in my spine).
Whilst I cancelled all my physio, osteo and acupuncture appointments, because I know nothing is permanently, physically wrong, I am just wondering about releasing the actual spasm itself, through massage for example. In the past I have had huge spasm and after the pain has subsided, the spasm and trigger points in the muscles have continued to cause me chronic pain.
Any advice or insight at all would be really welcome.
Thanks a lot.

Hey welcome to the board. What books have you read on this topic?

**Sure I can lay down on a bed of nails and not have pain but why am I having back pain when laying down on a soft mattress?
