Just wanted to talk about progress. In the past my posts have been frantic searches for answers but I feel like baby step after baby step I am making progress. So, I started seeing an out of the box MD who believes that mood affects the body and vice versa. He has helped me mainly by removing a few foods I am allergic to from my diet and adding vitamins/supplements where I was defficient. I knew I was allergic to two food items (not hightly allergic but enough to show up on a skin test)but continued to eat them for years. And while I can't call that the primary reason I have had a massive decrease in anxiety and bodily pains, I definitely think it has something to do with it. Learning about TMS/practicing thoughts that center mind & body have also been a huge part of this progress, but I firmly believe that real healing is finding balance in my total being: physically, emtionally and spiritually. In other words, exercise & diet, thought life, and (for me at least) my spiritual life. If one of these areas starts to sag it seems the whole person gets dragged down. Example: I have had a cold (I know some die hard TMS people claim they don't even get colds, but whatever. They prob don't have snotty toddlers at home like I do, sneezing in their faces). Anyway, I have had a cold and took a week (plus change) off from running. Bc of that I don't sleep as well or have enough energy which in turn affects everything else.

I have found that my health anxiety has drastically improved because of saying affirmations like "I am healthy, my body is strong, I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (last part is the spiritual part for me) and because my total anxiety is down. Old TMS symptoms spring up from time to time but I'm not afraid of them now. And if I start to feel afraid, I say to that thought "thanks for sharing!" and roll my eyes and move on. The old symptoms have a way of disappearing sometimes instantly when I do this.

I have also found that sometimes, when I'm tired (both mind and body) I find some kind of weird comfort in having a TMS symptom. There are conflicting feelings of course because the healthy part of me is all "no way, TMS!" and the other part feels that familiar sting and I think actually feels comfortable with it!

So, it's an ongoing process. Anyway, just wanted to update. I know not everyone agrees with my first paragraph but I've found what works for me, so leave it be ;)

Perhaps you feel being tired is wrong. Try affirming that feeling tired and needing a rest is OK.
Congratulations on your recovery! Keep going!
