Hi all,
I haven't been around in awhile, and figured I'd check in. Still dealing with TMJ, weird chest pain that I haven't ever really identified, and anxiety.
Also, I have been trying to get rid of razor burn on my neck for months with every treatment I can find. Surely, TMS is contributing here.
And lately, I have had random rashes pop up in random parts of my body like my armpit and groin.
But anyways, because of all this, I want to try to start setting aside 10-30 minutes a day for meditation. I'm completely new to the concept, so can anybody give me some advice on how to start becoming a meditation pro? |

I'm a novice, but this is what I do.
I sit or lie eyes closed. I start breathing with my belly and in between breaths I count 1, 2, 3 until I reach 10. Then I stop counting and only focus on the breathing for a couple of minutes. When thoughts come up I let them pass by. I try not to react and tell myself, "just a thought, let it go." Then I try to feel my different body parts or what they call breathing with those parts. For example you start with your feet for a couple of breaths, then your lower legs, upper legs and buttocks, groin etc. etc.. After that's done I try to feel my emotions, again without having thoughts, just trying to feel if I am sad, angry, ashamed or anxious. Warning: the problem with meditating lying down is that you may fall asleep.... :)
