Hi all,

Well I have had some crazy TMS stuff going on right now. Lately it hasn't been as much physical as it has been psychological. I have been dealing with anxiety, excessive worrying, chest pain, and TMJ symptoms like ball-in-throat and jaw pain.

I know that these symptoms are caused by my worry, but I think I am focusing on the skin-deep stress more than the actually emotions. I have been having a lot of irrational worries that seem to pop up for no reason, and I have been focusing on not worrying about them. It becomes an obsessive process to not think about these things.

Now, I think what I'm doing is counterproductive. I believe that these irrational fears about things in the future are part of the brain's TMS tricks to keep me distracted from my actual emotion.

I'm guessing after I eliminated the groin pain, that my brain attached itself to my obsessive and worrying personality. Anybody have any thoughts?

Gtfan,

Iam in the same boat, my anxiety has reached epic proportions. I wake up every night at 3am and don't sleep or set my alarm clock.

It has been like this since I started my new job , groin pains are bad when I don't have anxiety.

I'd have to also say my anxiety is worst than any pain! This is a first.

**Sure I can lay down on a bed of nails and not have pain but why am I having back pain when laying down on a soft mattress?

Don't lie there ruminating, DO SOMETHING!!! Do you recall the article that has been posted here sveral times about SEGMENTED SLEEP? Anthropologically speaking, waking up in the middle of the night is NORMAL. Our eight hour a night sleep thing is not the norm, but an invention to aid the industrial revolution to increase productivity. DVR or tape your favorite shows, read a book or go out hunting and gathering. After two hours you will fall back to a sound sleep. It's your attitude towards waking up at 3:00 AM that is causing your anxiety, not the waking up. I look forward to waking up for a couple of hours in the middle of the night, using this time productively, when all is quiet and I can focus. Also remember, ANXIETY is just another TMS symptom, and view it as TMS, benign and don't fear it. The worst thing you can do is lie there, looking at the ceiling ruminating
about your "problems". Your new job is an obvious trigger for topping over your TMS reservoir creating symptom distractions.
