Lot's of strain from the Maoists huh? Be careful not to overdo the headstands, could create a TMS trigger. Start with a good meditation class, are you in Kathmandu? There must be loads of them in your vicinity. Check my sig for a TMS doc.

Tennis Tom,
When I first encountered TMS I found some study where monks were getting migraines and various tms equivalents because they forgave and forgot to easily.
I will post the link as soon as I find it.
Basically most people from extreme holy orders. All religions really but this one was specific to Tibetan monks.
Sure I can lay down on a bed of nails and not have pain but why am I having back pain when laying down on a soft mattress? |

Monks are expected to forgive easily. They do it because they are expected to do it. They have false identities. They have TMS. |

TT,
Air hockey could trigger RSI as well.
Peregrinus,
I wish I could find the article but what is interesting is that monks can do alot of things we couldn't such as standing on coals or nails.
When they suffer from mindbody symptoms I wonder if the reason they cant identify it is because it is an internal source of pain rather than external?

wow you guys are geniuses how did you guys make a great thread outta ghh I know with all the years I preached I had some pretty bad migraines I wasn't a monk but I did the best I could to forgive the person I had to forgive the most was me though I had the inner bully syndrome after id let someone bash me or see something terrible id always blame myself I don't know why I let that happen now- but really I do , when your a preacher your supposed to be different ya know - blameless, even your children are supposed to be blameless talk about the tms when my son would do something crazy about twice a week I finally stepped down cause I just couldn't keep my family in order or get them to be like me ya know- now I know the lord wasn't asking me to do all that he wanted me to love them the way they were - mess ups and all my church family didn't understand , but eventually I did and it really set me free from a lot of internal issues just a few words to keep things going guys god bless |

Eric,
I had this same problem as well but it was in the form of my boss telling me I did something wrong and in reality it wasnt. Even my coworkers mentions that.
Later on I find out he is a big coke addict and cant sleep at night.
We need to forgive ourselves first and stop second guessing our choices. We are given many options and it is a continuing cycle to think "what if I chose this option instead" etc.
I owe all the success to this thread to Tennis Tom, a true tms veteran who can leave even people from Nepal speachless and not wanting to come back because he had such a profound impact.

Well thanks guys, just the dog days of summer and half a tab of Klonopin. I may try to gain some deeper insights by adding some Old Bushmills to the equation. |
