The payoff at the end...

13:50 - "What's amazing about this is that those natural self-repair mechanisms that we all have... they only flip on when the nervous system is relaxed... so when you're having stress responses... the body is too busy trying to flight or flee (anxiety) to repair itself...."

Nutshell
Fear response = disease
Losing the fear response = healing

Hi Mala,

Thanks for the Youtube of Dr. Lissa Rankin M.D., a mindbody physician! Here's an announcement for an upcoming lecture and book-signing by her in Mill Valley, California, and a link to a lively current thread here about her new book:

The mind body connection was known as far back as Hippocrates and was noted in the Bible.

Dr. Ken Pelletier did a thorough write up over 30 years ago in his book Mind As Healer.

Unfortunately Dr. Rankin's book is a big yawn with nothing new

Maybe for you Ric, because you are a know-it-all. But others here, who aren't professional book reviewers and haven't been privileged to speak with Hippocarates and Moses personally, may benefit from it. Maybe it's time to take a nap in the parked motor-home.

Cheers,

would have to agree here. i think its this simple in reality people like to think its more complicated but the fear response is behind all of this in my opinion. if you eliminate the fear response to the pain the pain eventually goes away. this would be why the treatments for TMS/mind body disorder and anxiety are the same.

Bingo.

It doesn't sell books, but it's the truth.
