godd@mnit, very good video!
The story about not stressing your mother by pretending you're fine while you're not especially resonates....
A great video to kick start my self analysis again, thank you very much.
what is my body saying no to, that I am not saying no to. what am I letting in that my gut tells me not to. I guess the opposite is just as true... what is my body saying yes to, that I am not saying yes to.... what am I rejecting that my gut is telling me to let in.
there is much food for thought here. |

gigalos, glad you liked it too! One of the most compelling presentations I've heard in a while.
Plum, I've listened to it several times, now. I don't think Mate says this directly, but I think maybe he indirectly says ? what I believe, which is that attachment TRUMPS *ALL*. In other words, it seems to me that I have and would continue to choose, a sense of attachment over the other primal drive of authenticity, no matter my genuine need for authenticity, and frankly, no matter the cost. Hence, the (chronic) conflict. And hence, my constant desire to escape the pain of the chronic conflict.
Other than Developmental Skills Training aka Emotional Brain Training, I don't know of other programs which directly address remediating the attachment to the self. (The program also addresses authenticity, but I'm sure lots of other program do too.) At any rate, I've been at DST/EBT for quite a few years now, (admittedly starting from a VERY low/unskilled place) and while much improved in this area, still a long way to go I think.
Not sure where this leads me, but currently where I'm at! As gigalos says, much food for thought here!
