It is almost ironic, that the day I return to this forum, the first post I see, is related to skin problems, which I intend to talk/ask about.
I have not been here in a long time, simply because I was completely healed from ALL my pain!!
Sadly, I have been dealing with some bad skin issues. The skin on my face is flaky and feels rough after washing (water only) and becomes oily shortly afterwards. I have always had issues like that, but only few times so extreme. By extreme I mean that I am also starting to obsess over them. I went to the dermatologist and he said that there is nothing I can do, this is my skin type and this is the person who I am (not so cool to hear!). I have to apply moisturizer constantly, but it seems to me that this makes things only worse.
Since my pain went away a long time ago and I can easily deal with TMS flare-ups in stressfull/TMS-times, I never considered this skin issue a long-time TMS symptom, that has gone overboard now. I can hardly spent 30 minutes without running to the bath room and checking my face. It is driving me mad and making me very alienated from my family.
Any comments/help is greatly appreciated!!

Did you manage to pinpoint what the cause is if it is TMS?
Any particular thoughts or stress that set it off?
It sounds like the mind found a way of distracting you successfully and is holding on to it firmly.

Thanks for the reply! I am pretty sure that my current job is causing a lot of issues, but since I do not get any pain or since I am able to manage the pain pretty well, I never thought the skin issues could be TMS too. I have had this condition before, but it was never on my mind like that, nor was it that severe.

I guess TMS always look for someone's weak spots to achieve its goal.. Pain didn't do the job anymore, skin issues clearly have a better effect.

I had itches all over my face and arms two days ago and had a particular dry skin on my lower back. It was all coming from a bit too much stress and too little sleep. I gave it as little attention as I could and since it is weekend and I had a decent sleep it is gone... oh wait, just typing this gives me an itch :) ... ah, it's gone again...

I am glad you got rid of the itch! TMS truly is a nasty thing and I never thought it could affect the skin like that too.
I had the same thoughts about the pain to skin issue transformation, but many doubts too, because I have had skin issues before (just not so extreme). Your comment encouraged me though :)
I am going to treat it as a TMS thing now. Let's hope that it won't drive me nuts to not apply moisturizer!
