Well, its Day 5 since I've started reading Dr. John's Sarno's books. I feel like I'm getting better day by day.

However, there is one thing I could use some help with. How do we handle our inner inconscious rage? Should I analyze each situation and tell myself to relax and not be frustrated or stressed? Or would this be considered repression? Should I try to bring out these feelings of rage throughout the day?

Also, how should we handle fear? I fear my pain getting severe again. Not because I fear not being able to do physical activity, but becasue I just fear the terrible feeling of pain itself. Should we tell ourselves not to be afraid? Or would this be considered repression also?

That's great stuff. Fear has most definitely been controlling my life for years. Fear of rejection, looking dumb, or not fitting in.

I found Ace's Keys to be a great way to get over your fear of the pain. My pain is gone, but not only that but I have had a couple of relapses which did not amount to anything and went away quickly because practicing Ace's Keys taught me how to effectively deal with my fear. What is so subtle about the keys is that fear is not really mentioned. Fear needs you to engage it, it likes to occupy the forefront of your mind. If you argue with it or tell yourself you shouldn't be experiencing it, fear is getting stronger. Fear is the creation of the dark parts of your mind (Carl Jung would call these dark parts "the shadow", we all have this, but a lot of us are afraid to shine the light of consciousness upon it) Because of this, you can also take away fear's existence if you know how to do it. One way is to cultivate the opposite of fear which is courage and confidence. If you practice the Keys, you will cultivate what you need to rob fear of it's existence. Soon you will realize this and your new found confidence and courage (due to positive affirmations, living life without mental strain, allowing space for the pain, making peace with it and knowing it for what is really is, a warning system that you need to pay attention to your psyche) makes the pain recede into the background, it just sort of quietly fades away gently. Don't think about the fear, just follow the Keys. If it makes an appearance, just let it be, notice it and move on.

I hope this helps with fear. It worked for me.
