I have a friend who does not have chronic pain but has discrete attacks. It starts with rib and abdominal pain then it progresses to the feelings of diarrhea and vomiting – sometime she does and other times she just feels like she will.
These last one to three hours and then she feels unwell for several hours...then normal. She has been to numerous doctors and they don’t have a clue.
She ahs had a lot of stress and family deaths in the last 5 years
