I just read this on a "miscelaneous" section of another forum I belong to.
The original poster asked the typical back/sciatica quesstion. Here was one of the responses:
Just a quixk side note about back surgery.
I used to sell mattresses and one of my buddieswho worked with my quit to get a job selling screws that go in peoples backs.
he had no training what so ever in the medical field.
He is on fulll commision and doctors look to him as if he is some sort of professional who knows what he is doing.
They pay like $3 for the screws which look like fancy sheet metal screws, and they sell them for about $1500 each. he makes commission on every one he gets installed.
He even goes into the operating rooms and tells the surgeon where to put the screws.
he did eventually get some training for about a week at a ramada inn somewhere but that was about it.
he makes really good money doing this.
Of course he shows me the xrays of peoples backs that have screws in them all the way up the spine. Big paycheck that week.
Not saying that this is the case here, just saying its something to think about before going under the knife.
and i slept at a holiday in last night-not to make light of this;it just proves how far into the dark ages the medical field has gone/this is a tragedy/but on the good side and the other end of the spectrum you have sarnos theory and the truth which is light yrs ahead of the competion/it just shows even more how we have got to somehow get the masses to move to our end of the spectrum where true healing occurs.....
