Freedom of life by Annie Payson Call is a free ebook. Even though it was written many years ago, the content is just as valid today as it was back then. It's an easy read & I hope you find it useful as part of your tms recovery.

I particularly liked chapters 3 & 4.

Honestly, I sometimes really get fed up with my subconscious. It's like it's got a mind of its own.

Hi Mala,

Quite honestly, I've been doing terrible. My stomach pain has been horrendous, which the stress set off my jaw ("TMJ"). I know I'm not doing things right to heal myself. I couldn't take my mind off the physical.

So, I got some vicodin and was taking up to 8 a day for about a week, which didn't help much. Then I switched to Tramadol and gabapentin which took away most of the pain. Tomorrow I'm going to forego the pain meds to see where I'm at. It's been a wonderful break from pain and I've made sure I did things I enjoyed. So, the pain may have lessened quite a bit, but we will see. Thanks for asking.

This article has been such a eye opener concerning my problem with resistance. I'm going to apply the practical advice in my life and see where it takes me concerning the vicious cycle of pain. I have really enjoyed this article.

How are you doing??

TJ hope you are OK once you come off the meds. I thought you actually had to take the gapapentin long term for it to take effect. But I guess you know better. And I'm so pleased that you wre able to do some fun things.

I had some hormone testing & bloodwork done & I will be on some supplements for deficiencies in the body. I have also been doing some visualisation, affirmations & positive thinking. It's not easy & I can't Seem to do the visualisation too long . It's kinda hard to visualise doing anything pain free when the body feels otherwise. But I will build up slowly. I'm in Bkk for 2 more days & then back home.

I too just loved the chapter on resistance & have been reading it over & over since it is so short. There is a lot of similarity between her book & Dale Carnegie's stop Worrying & Start Living. She also mentions many things that Sarno has except in a different style but if you read between the lines, she is writing about tms too.

Keep us posted in how you are doing.

Lots of hugs

Mala
