I have been reading, writing, visualizing, and meditating for about 6 months now. I was seeing steady progress of becoming symptom free for the first 4 months. I had no restrictions or pain for about a month until about a week ago. I have recently started to once again fear certain movements and focus on my low back. I am aware that something psychological is going on, but am still trying to figure it out. What I wanted to know was: Has anyone else got to a point where (s)he thought they had pretty much gotten over TMS/MBS/DPS for an extended period of time only to have it come back with a vengeance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

To find out what is triggering your current attack, take a look at the Rahe-Holmes list of life stressing situations in my sig below.
TMS is part of the human condition, therefore there is no "cure" or guarantee that you will not on occasion have need to experience TMS pain as a defense mechanism. As Dave said in a recent post, it's a marathon and not a sprint. Learn to take control of your life head-on and focus on the emotional issues to keep the gremlin at bay.

Yes, I believe that some of us who experience various symptoms of TMS may continue to live with it on and off throughout our lives. Self-awareness is key, and then we can proceed to treat it. |
