Hey Everyone,

Last time I had a really bad stomach flare up I got a lot of support and it helped tremendously with the pain. I really appreciated it.

It's been about 6 months and I feel like I'm back to square one. So, just looking for some more words of wisdom, stories of healing and what not. I'll be happy with anything lol.

I have been having quite a few non-TMS related health issues such as insional hernias (multiple),2 fistulas and STILL dealing with infection. I think it's taking it's toll on me and I'm stressing, hence severe stomach pain.

TIA for any support.

Taylor

Taylor, sorry to hear you that you are going thru such a rough phase. Are u sure your stomach is tms? Or could it be part of the other things that you have. Just make sure by having yourself checked thoroughly & I hope you feel better real soon.
Take care.

Try to eliminate this defeatist mode of thinking, and accept that TMS has its ups and downs. If your symptoms have worsened, perhaps there is something new going on in your life that you are not fully facing up to.

If you allow yourself to get frustrated on every setback, you will not make long-term progress. It is a marathon, not a sprint. Speed bumps are part of the process.

Dave,

I don't have a defeatest attitude. Quite the contrary. I realize that I'm going to have flare ups when it concerns gastritis but I'm thankful that I have knowledge to cure myself.

Mala,

Thanks so much for the kind words. But you're right to be sure that it's not something like a incarcerated hernia or Cdiff from taking all of the antibiotics. I know what incarcerated hernias feel like as I've been through it more than I'd like. I'm also taking a hefty probiotic and haven't had diarrhea so it can't be Cdiff. This pain is just excruciatingly familiar to my gastritis. I flared up after having been told that my stomach muscles are like swiss cheese and correcting the problem will be quite difficult.

I hate to drag you into this Mala, but I've been thinking about you a lot since you told me your Gyn recommended a hysterectomy. Please get a 2nd and 3rd opinion. Gyn's have a tendency to recommend a hysterectomy to willy nilly. They also have a tendency to blame what you'll most likely believe for the reason of pain.

Don't give your trust to doctors easily. My life has been made hell because of misdiagnosis. If my doctors weren't so careless and negligent I would have only had 1 abdominal surgery instead of 3!

Now my stomach is a scarred up mess with multiple hernias and fistulas. You don't want to go down the road of surgery unless you absolutely have to.

I just want you to try to think about your rationally. So I will leave you with this. Millions and millions of women have fibroids your size and much bigger without knowing it. And millions of women have fibroids your size without having any symptoms at all. And also think about how we are designed to carry babies that are almost 2 feet long and weighing 7 or 8lbs. How could a tumor 2 or 3 inches cause you such debilitating pain? Does it seem logical?

And if you have surgery and it doesn't correct the problem, doctors can get exasperated with you and believe me, their niceness goes out the window and they start treating you like a head case.

Like I said, I'm sorry to drag you into this, I just don't want you to have to go through all the crap I'm going through. It's a really rough road. My post op problems aren't TMS and this means it's really out of my hands on fixing it and in the hands of people that caused it.

How are you stomach issues going? I've gotten back on the slippery elm and DGL and I woke up feeling a little better today.

Oh also, I have a little trick to bad gas. It's kind of gross but it works really well for me at least.

After my surgeries I had really bad gas and constipation so I'd use a suppository. Well, the suppository always made me pass a lot of gas and I'd feel soooo much relief.

Well, yesterday morning I woke up with the worst gas pain in both of ribs, I could barely move. So I took a suppository and in minutes I got a lot of relief. But my ribs were so sore! Today it's completely gone, thank goodness. I know, gross but wow it really helps.

Hugs and healing to you. If you ever need to chat, vent, cry on a shoulder or whatever please don't hesitate to email me. I read your posts like a kindred spirit because I've gone through and going through a lot issues the same as you.

Taylor

Dave, I think that all Taylor was asking for was some support, some stories of healing, something that would lifet her spirits & help her stay on track . Her topic title says it all.

Taylor I hear what you are saying about the fibroids. Believe me I'm so not keen on surgery. In fact this doctor that I went to initially said exactly the same thing that it was unlikely the fibroids were causing the pain. But during the physical exam he replicated the pain that I have by pushing on the fibroid. I was in agony and he seemed then to change his mind. I'm ok with him changing his mind as it shows a degree of flexibility & also admitting that he was wrong initially.

The pain is severe & it is known that some fibroids will cause back pain . The back pain in turn causes much misery & tension that it affects other parts of the body like the stomach & neck not to mention anxiety & depression.

I do hope that you are feeling a bit better. I'm not surprised you had a flare up after what they said about yr stomach muscles. They can actually tell? Or is it just something that doctors say which they do so often without realising the negative impact it may have on the patient. I hope others here can post something more helpful.

Oh you've been a big help. It's very therapeutic for me to talk things out. Nobody around me believes in TMS so it makes it hard to discuss my issues. It's either I'm being dramatic or I might have cancer. Two extremes lol.

But yes, I believe my stomach muscles is like swiss cheese. I can feel multiple hernias. And after the last operation I got a huge bulge on the left side of my stomach. It hasn't busted open yet but the lining is so thin and there is no muscle anymore from being damaged that it's not able to hold my intestines in properly. My doctors said I'm a very extreme case. Lucky me.

But I'm going to lose weight before I even attempt to have everything fixed. It will be a good excuse to get a tummy tuck.

Thanks for the encouragement, it's really appreciated.

Well, I woke up this morning and my stomach pain had resolved about 90%.
But of course the pain moved to my jaw. So, I decided to take a few days off from work. Once I decided to do that the pain in my jaw diminished. I think perhaps I've been resentful of having to work so many hours.

So, the next few days I'll be doing some movie and series marathons and lots of sleep and rest. Hopefully, I'll be 100% by the time I get back to work. That would be so nice!

Taylor, glad to hear that the tummy is better. Sorry about the jaw. I like yr spirit, the way you are tackling yr symptoms. How do you mange to stay focused on watching the movies. My recent bout with jaw pain leaves me with headaches & I can't do anything.

In fact I am like that. When in pain I kind of freeze & just wallow. I'm unable to focus on anything else.

Take care & get well soon.
