Ever since I found out about TMS, several times a week, before I go to sleep, I hear this sound as if something is quickly being sucked out of or is swooshing out of some sort of orifice. I don't mean a bodily orifice. The sound occurs a few feet away from where I'm laying. It appears in different locations. It isn't something I dream. After it happens I'll look in the direction in which it happens, so therefore I'm in close touch with waking state awareness.

I don't know if this relates, but years ago I experienced astral projection without any previous knowledge that a thing such as astral projection exists. For a while I'd purposely tune into, but eventually stopped doing so because I didn't want to venture into the World it might represent. For a while, just before I'd fall asleep, I'd at times be overcome with an overwhelming energy that might have some relation to the energy that relates to astral projection. I'd also see intricate, very elaborate, and ever changing color patterns taking place within my room. Similar to what you might see if you took acid. I'd also have the same type of experience after suddenly waking from an intense dream.

There was a time when I'd tried to push these experiences away. Eventually I got braver about it and allowed myself to experience them.

I don't tend to have them anymore. I understand that I'm experiencing all of this in my mind, and that it is possible to see mind created images superimposed on one's mental image of the physical World. After all, we don't experience the World directly. We just have a mental images of it.

Has anybody heard that sound I first described? It seems interesting that if first started to occur after I found out about TMS.

P.S. An interesting side note. The next day after experiencing astral projection for the first time, I went to the library and just by chance (chance?) pulled a book off a shelf and it was a book about astral projection. It seems odd that without intending too I just happened to grab a book about something that I didn't even know about until I experienced it the night before.

Is astral projection out-of-body experience, Albert? I have never experienced anything like that, but my husband, the most laid-back, non-TMS person, non- supernatural believing person you could ever meet says that he has experienced this a few times.

When I've talked to him about it and asked if he wouldn't like to find out more about it, he just says that there will be a rational explanation for what happens - the scientists just haven't worked out what yet.

Astral projection means an out of body experience.

The first time it happened, all of a sudden I noticed that my body was vibrating. I tried to gain control of it by lifting my right arm. I saw my right arm lift, but then noticed that I still had a right arm lying at my side. I looked at the ceiling and it looked alive. There were bright colored beams of light moving accross my room. Not at the speed of light, but slowly. A ghost like image traveled accross the room right to where my face was. It looked like a man in a monks gown. Then I flew out of my body for a short moment and flew around the building I was in. I did all of this without knowing anything about astral projection.

I didn't feel like I was dreaming when this happened. Unlike a dream, I was aware of my usual physical surroundings. The experience seems to happen somewhere inbetween the waking state and the sleep state. Almost as if they get connected.

When I read about it later, I found out that it tends to start with the body vibrations I explained about above. I don't know what the science behind it is.

I thought about this some more. It seems that when the noise happens, I'm in the same state of mind as when astral projection is experienced. Seemingly, the point when waking consciousness switches to sleeping consciousness.

As far as I know, I've astrally projected just the one time I described. I got to the point of the vibrations a few times, but out of fear I wouldn't allow myself to project out of my body.

My memory on this is vague, but the sound I hear reminds me of the sound I heard when I astrally projected.

Since I've been digging into my memories, perhaps my connection to whatever the astral World is, has come back to life. At least ways to the extent where I can hear waking consciousness transistioning into sleep consciousness. The sound does give me the mental image of my consciousness exiting from the shell of my physical body.

I know this might sound wierd, but I'm not alone when it comes to astral projection. I was hoping that anybody who might have separated themself from such experiences in the past, have had them come back after they found out about TMS.

P.S. I know a fair amount about science and see how the above doesn't fit in. But who knows what's out there beyond what scientific instruments can measure? Heck, a lot of modern science can't even except the mind-body connection.
