hi .i have only just bought the book and have'nt started reading it yet(i will). But after reading a few of these posts,is this a method that you literally have to explore ALL the reasons you are in this state??? If i did that i'd be like some of the Americans and in"Therapy"till i'm a 102!!! I know exactly what has caused me to be like this, there may be other things in there too,but i'm not convinced dragging them up will help. Not much thats been dragged up so far has! And plenty has been dragged up.If this is what this is based on i cant see it being of much use to me?I have spent many, many pounds on "therapy" of various sorts.I've given up on it now.But i have learnt an awlful lot about myself, but it certainly has'nt been the answer.

To the contrary. You need only accept that your pain is psychosomatic. In fact, even that's not required in my opinion. Reduced to the bare essence, all you have to do is stop fearing your pain for whatever reason.

Sarno talks about pain as a distraction from deep-seated emotional issues, but if you don't want to get all introspective about things, you in my opinion do not need to...
