I have a question for those who are mental health therapists. I recently got my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and would like to work with people experiencing TMS that won't clear from the Sarno books alone. Do you ask your prospective clients to see a TMS physician before treatment? How do you cover yourself in the event that someone's pain is not TMS. Granted that number would be very small but in this day and age, I would not want to be sued because a prospective client was in that 10% range of having a non TMS condition.
I have called every therapist on the list I saw posted here. Each one asked me if I was formally diagnosed with TMS and said I would need to do that before they treated me, so yes, I would say so. I hope that there are some TMS specialists in your area.
