I don't, but my sister does. She gets nightmares a lot, and sometimes she dreams something where she'll wake up out of sorts and confused. I don't know exactly what causes it, but she gets panic attacks, too, so I think it might be stress.

Yes. Dreams are nothing but symptoms. Dreams indicates your brain is loaded with unnecessary worry and is not calm and it manifest in the form of dreams.
There is nothing wrong having dreams.
Dreams and chasing\ racing throught are also symptoms of TMS. Solution to this is do not pay attention to these thoughts and they will fade away.
Make a effort that you will become calmer and calmer day by day ( will not happen in a day or two but will take months to calm down )and do not pay attention to these thoughts and they will go away.
This can be immediatly attained, if yoy strongly believe your thoughts and sysmptoms are completely harmless.
TMS occurs when fear centers in brain get activated for long time.
Cheers,
Sachin

Have to disagree with this statement.
Dreams are, well, just dreams. It is an essential part of our brain's "maintenance plan." Some people believe dreams provide a window into our subconscious; perhaps some of that is true.
I think it is possible that recurring dreams or nightmares can be a symptom of some emotional unrest; for example, trauma victims may relive those memories through nightmares. However, making a general statement that dreams are symptoms of TMS is going a bit too far IMO. |

Dave, I too was having lot of dreams. Dreams results when you have your consciousness loaded. If you are calm and peaceful, you will not have any dreams and your sleep will be peaceful and refreshing.
Here many people have reported that they have been having frequest dreams. That means their consciousness is so loaded it is manifesting as dreams \ racing thoughts \physical symptoms. When you start calming down, all dreams \ thoughts \ physical symptoms goes on reducing and you will be free from this.
I have put this statement purely based on my experience. It doesnot mean people getting only dreams means they have TMS. But something we can conclude that they are not peaceful and distubed and always anxious and that results into dreams.
Peaceful man will not have any dream. He can sleep like a baby. This is waht I am enjoying now a days.
Cheers. |

But we dream all the time. It is part of REM sleep. It is a part of being human. We certainly don't remember all of our dreams, but they happen, every night, unless we are not sleeping ;) |
