Recently with the approach of my 60th birthday...Heatburn, tinnitus, aching foot,
Long standing issues are migraines and sugar intolerance...On the good side of ledger: food allergies are gone (not including the sugar thing), back spasms substantially gone(when they do appear they're very shortlived...hours rather than the previous many days).
Also on the good side of the ledger, I feel I have the tools to cope with the stuff that remains. |

hey matt
how deep does the journaling have to be. I have a hard time even getting them out sometimes. I get paranoid about someone reading the stuff I write lol so alot of times I just don't write it but I know alot of my symtoms are from tms but I can't get rid of them so easily it comes and goes. |

Surprising how many have tinnitus. Seems to be the common cold of TMS.
Currently (depending on the day or time of day) tinnitus, pf (left and right), hamstring tendonitis occasionally, groin sensitivity, elbow pain, chronic worry, dysthymia, and most troublesome of all: hypochondria. |

I think tinnitis is often a matter of selective attention, like the eye floaters discussed in the pther thread.
I have tinnitus when I pay attention to it. I don't when I don't.. I wonder how many other symptoms follow this model. |

Good point on tinnitus, Art.
I was on vacation in AZ last week and it was interesting to see my normal hypochondria at a much lower level. Not zero, of course, but at a surprisingly manageable level. I even went for a 14 mile run on the canals one day, which is more than I have done since a hip injury 6 months ago. Interestingly, when I arrived home, it was not an hour before I was barraged my the usual string of symptoms, incl tinnitus, which seemed to have risen a few decibels. Fortunately, that was only for a day or two.
It is becoming more clear to me all the time how I can't assume anything when it comes to physical symptoms. Every one must be looked at from the perspective of tms no matter how "real" it seems. |

Here goes: back pain, hip pain, leg pain, plantar fascitis, neck pain, arm pain, sciatica, headaches, vertigo, tinnitus, prostatitis, knee pain, shoulder pain, hand pain, and a few others I have forgotten to mention -- all within the last year. |

Most recently: heartburn/indigestion/IBS, joint pain in hips, knees and right thumb, dizziness, low energy/fatigue. I seem to have gotten a handle on the back pain but some of these others are hard to lick. Stomach problems seem to be the hardest to overcome. Of course I said that about dizziness last year |

Bilateral foot, ankle and leg pain, plantar fascitis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, acid relux, upper body muscle tightness, anxiety, OCD - have had "serious" stuff like MS, lyme disease, etc. ruled out by over 15 specialists. Gonna make appt. with Dr. Sarno soon but was hoping to see Dr. Sopher in NH - anyone know what happened to his practice? His recording said it closed. |

Hey, this is interesting. It's probably healthier to name one's symptoms than to Google them!
I'd like to just name the symptoms that are trying to distract me right now! An aching burning tension sensation that never stays still but constantly moves from one place to another, moment to moment, all over my body, distracting me not only with pain but with motion of pain! And, pain in my left hip every time I stand up and start moving, sometimes almost can't put weight on it. |

This being the TMS Forum, it would be much more beneficial naming the emotional issues those symptoms are distracting you from. For some examples look at the Rahe-Holmes list.
