Has anyone checked out a forum called TIPNA? They say that the pudendal nerve causes the Levator Spasms. They say that the pudendal nerves being inflamed or pinched can cause Levator Spasms. The pundendal nerves are located in each side of the buttock. They said surgery on the nerves is the only cure. I don't like the idea of surgery.Several people on the forum that had the surgery, said there symptoms improved by 50 to 75%.(3 to 6 months after surgery).

This is the TMS Forum, so surgery is not at the top of the "to do list" around here. Dr. Sarno says surgery is the best placebo.

If you don't want surgery, I would recommend you use the "Search" button above and put in your key words "pudendal" and "levator spasms" and you'll find a lot of threads referencing them.

Good Luck

JODDY,

I had a lot of trouble and suffering with what I thought was hemmorhoid pain. Also developed tail bone pain (cocydynia). Long story-short I was told by a proctologist that I had levator muscle spasms. Also suffered for years from vulvodynia which susposedly involves the peduntal nerve. All turned out to be TMS.

There is so much more to this story but I finally figured it out and applied Dr. Sarno's principals and resolved these issues. I suffered for years only to realise that this too was a trick of my unconcious mind.

If you would like to know more about this from me let me know. I'd be glad to try to help.
