has anyone out there noticed themselves "bracing" their stomach muscles?--for no reason or breathing very shallow then getting up and feeling dizzy? |

Jaya, yes, I have noticed I tense my stomach area and the same level around at my back, I have had shallow breathing many times, also felt dizzy in the past. I have been making an effort to be present and focus on keeping my body loose and breathing deep and slow. Need to improve on this but I did notice a difference when I was really committed to it. I believe this has much to do with having an over stimulated system. Stress, worry and concern habits have dug themselves in and need to be unlearned. Do you get pain in the mornings and less during the day?

Hi Jaya and Darko The pattern seems common , what are the changes brought by eating if any (like as soon as you eat your fill or drink something hot) and also do you feel any difference on you lower back if you push on the stomach muscles that are tight like in order to relax them? I used to have a different timing for the symptoms but they were of the same nature. A controlled breathing habit as you said is a good way to offset stress related symptoms as soon as they appear. Shallow breathing was always an issue preceding the bad times. |

Slow down Jaya, anxiety alone can bring those symptoms up and maintain them if you cling to it ...instead try to break the cycle of the anxiety by using well know methods and see what happens.Anxiety itself is a TMS equivalent... Fragment the problem if you cannot deal with all of it as one. Nothing good can happen as long as there is too much tension feeding the rest. If you're easily negatively influenced leave the search to a professional or someone you trust best that will have the objectivity necessary. You must defeat or avoid triggering the fear to lower anxiety. Think of solutions instead of problems and pleasant issues instead of unpleasant ones also keep the process simple it makes it easier to handle the difficulties.

Jaya, I did some Googling one time and convinced myself I had spondylosing ankylosis......which sent me into a tail spin. As you can imagine this was not healthy. My advice to you is to find evidence to prove yourself wrong. Look maybe you do have it, I really don't know but it's not that bad, just too much inflammation in the body. However you need to sort it out one way or the other, otherwise you'll never get relief with that fear hanging over your head. As Catspine mentioned anxiety can be a real player here. I've had IBS plenty of times and anxiety has been an issue for me. Do you get physical pain of any sort? |

darko, i have pains that shoot through my abdomen, burning, testicular pain that shoots down my leg-sometimes anal spasms-its really weird-i never run afever though nor do i have symptoms after i go to bed...very annoying, thers no doubt that anxiety is a key player here, though i dont think its the whole picture. even though my therapist and nutritionist say otherwise-its so hard for me to convince myself that this is mind/body controlled. the internet can scare the heck out of you.quote: Originally posted by Darko
