Hi Everyone,
Keeping it Simple is a Big Huge Deal
Keeping it simple is a big huge deal in reversing the unwanted effects of TMS. Every couple of weeks I review my consultation notes and questions from emails and I pick the "stuckness" topic that was most dominant to share with everyone.
In this update there is no big strategy to work on or thought provoking story or testimonial to share.
There is simply one message. Keep it simple.
What does that mean?
1. Make the decision to accept that the cause of most chronic pain is inner tension which is generated by your daily patterns of behavior and thought. Proceed with this acceptance with confidence and conviction.
2. Simply Think Psychological. Pain is a signal to become aware of how you are being. Genuinely acknowledge the signal, state your mantra of acceptance and now get the heck out of the distraction. Do this in a nano second.
3. Understand the distraction strategy in these pain syndromes is meant to keep you distracted. Have it your sincere intention to not be distracted.
4. Sincerely become aware of how you are being. Where are you putting your energy? Is this where you want your energy? What energy are you communicating to your nervous system? This is the big huge deal right here! Are you transmitting tightness or openness? Are you transmitting rigidness or balance? It is the quality of your energy that you get to choose. Once it reaches your autonomic nervous system you are automatically getting the effects, so choose deliberately and be mindful of your choice!
5. Healing is a present-time experience. Don't look backwards or forward, focus only on the present.
6. Take this information and incorporate it into your new healing lifestyle way of being and not as a treatment that you are doing to fight, struggle and defeat something that is wrong.
Nothing is wrong. This mind body syndrome is perfect. When we generate tightness in our mind we get tightness in our body. When we are closed-off in attitude we get a body closed-off. When we become more balanced and open in thought, attitude and behavior we receive a body that is balanced and open.
Do you need to make this more difficult than this? If so Why?
Are you thinking, "I've been in a constant pain battle with horrific episodes for years and years and this is all I need to do is make it simple"?
I believe for all of us, whether we are struggling, maintaining, learning or just revisiting this pain syndrome, the most effective and efficient path to relief, reversal and healing is keeping it simple.
If you are stuck in reversing this syndrome and finding it difficult to get relief, email or call me.
Stay the course.

Thank you Monte and everyone else, just reading some responses has decreased my current pain! :)
My success story: Six years ago I had a diagnosis of Morton's Neuroma, a horrible pain in the foot, that required injections at the site, and if it didn't get better then I'd need surgery, which meant I could lose feeling in my toe/s. So I was very unhappy about that since I always wanted to practice yoga and rolling over your toes is needed. :) Anyway, this is when I started looking up solutions cause i would not have that. So I found the MindBody Prescription, sounded very real, however I could rationalize myself into anything so I made an appt with Sarno, just as described in the book was our appt and it confirmed that I had TMS. SO, I worked with it and next time I went to my foot doctor, he said I was recuperating wonderfully and that would be the last shot i needed. Well, one day soon after as i'm walking to my yoga class after work I get this intense pain in the foot again, so I got very upset. However, I went over the events of the past few days in my head.. then I realized I was jealous of someone getting a promotion who I thought was less deserving than I was. I even hate to admit that feeling now, imagine then! :) Well I was like Ok, so I was jealous, what a horrible negative emotion, etc. etc. I'm angry that... Well af few minutes later, just becoming aware of it, I kept walking and made it to my yoga class and I never had Morton's neuroma pain again. Alas but my brain is clever and I've changed stressors.. so I now have pain somewhere else and I'm here again to beat this other pain! Pain begone! :) Honestly if I hadn't gone through it and had this success story myself I'd still wonder, and I still do, I think maybe it was a one time shot.. haha :) But it's my doubt, my fears and my anxieties. We can do this! It can be done! :)
PS: Some can philosophize on the dark side when in pain too! (I know I can) As Sarno said "Pain is telling you something you don't already know." But I hate pain and I hate being upset, so there.. just call us Grumpy Smurf. ;P |
