Hi, all,

I announced the second annual TMS conference at UCLA a couple of weeks ago on the wiki's forum (it's slower than this one, but has some good stuff--please drop by and post a bit once in a while ). In case people here haven't had a chance to take a look, I thought I'd share the link here as well:
http://tmswiki.wetpaint.com/thread/3665324/Announcing+the+second+annual+TMS+Conference+in+LA

If you have a couple of minutes to help with some glitches we've had with the website for the conference, you can also visit this thread:

Your assistance would be gratefully appreciated.

Best,

Forest

Hi forest,

Just went to the website

http://lamindbodyconference.org/

and I don't seem to have any problem getting into it.

Also just want to say a big thank you to you and all the others for doing so much for the TMS cause.

Good Luck & Good Health

No problem with the website and very exciting, Forest! It's for lay people (like us) as well as health care practitioners?

No problems Forest. I have Norton 360 and it was fine with it.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for checking out the website. Our best guess is that the alarm comes up for only a very small proportion of visitors (perhaps 5%). However, when you spend thousands of dollars to send fliers out for a conference, the notion that you could lose even 5% of the visitors for such a silly reason is pretty frustrating.

Thanks!

I just spoke with Alan Gordon, LCSW last night about how excited we are about everything that is happening in the world of TMS (Alan is the chair for the conference and has been doing an amazing amount of promotion for it). We also talked about how we are hoping that the wiki will become a central repository for information related to TMS. For example, our TMS in the Media and Find a TMS Doctor or Therapist pages are becoming the "go to" definitive sources on their subject matter. Take, for example, the Find a TMS Doctor or Therapist page. It's only four months old and it already has 38 more people in it than the second largest list. It's also the only practitioner list to include photos, summaries of people's backgrounds, integrated information about degrees, and links to Survey Responses and Q&A answers. Also, unlike lists owned by an individual, it's guaranteed to always be free because of the wiki's Creative Commons license and because we are setting up a public charity to back the wiki. Finally, it will always be current, since there is a whole team of wiki editors who can update it rather than just a single individual.

Whew! I got a little carried away back there! It's hard not to get excited, though...

Anyway, I bring this up because I'm grateful for everyone's help and I want you to know about other ways that you can help. We want lists like the TMS in the Media page and the Doctor and Therapist list to be as comprehensive as possible. If you ever find anything that you feel should be added to the wiki, please let us know. Since not all of the editors are able to keep up with TMSHelp, the best place to post change requests and feedback is in our Change Requests forum. However, since HilaryN and Peg regularly read this forum, it's probably pretty safe to post here as well...

Thanks again for your support...

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to encourage attendance by the general public. While the mailing for the conference targeted therapists, nurses and some physicians in California, it is open to the public as well. I think it would be of value to anyone interested in learning more about the successful treatment of TMS.

Hope to see some of you there.

Best,
Peg

Do the invites come with free air tickets from the UK?
