Hi everyone, A co-worker read Healing Back Pain at my suggestion for her own back pain issues. I'm not sure whether or not she 100% embraces Sarno's concepts. I get the sense she's possibly skeptical. I certainly embrace it all as I'm living proof that I've gotten over many of my ailments and back pain from understanding the reading. Her husband has what is described as drop foot and numbness in his foot (or feet, not sure). He is undergoing very serious in-home treatments for possible ALS/Lou Gherig's. The docs are not sure what they're dealing with and at this point it all sounds like they're guessing at what it could be. They're administering some sort of infusion into his bloodstream or bone marrow, can't remember. None of the treatments are helping and the numbness is new. Since she read the Sarno book, I have suggested to her it may be worth looking more closely at TMS concepts, because Sarno does talk about drop foot/numbness in a few of his books. Does anyone on here have any experience with drop foot/numbness as it related to TMS that I can pass along to her? Thanks!
Unfortunately I have some experience with Lou Gehrig's Disease, ALS. It would be really important that they rule OUT ALS. If the doctors believe that his symptoms are ALS there are definitive test to run. If those come back negative then SARNO is the way to go. My thoughts are with your co-worker. ALS is a disease that will destroy it's victims and their families. Marsha
