My experience with Dr. Shechter has been different than that of Jimmyjimmy in the thread "Cautionary Tale".

I'm posting this seperatly from the thread as I think this post might get lost in the shuffle.

My experience with Dr. Shechter has been mostly postive. I saw him for the initial 45 minute appointment. I absorbed what he said and my back pain while running disappered the next day. Since I have no health insurance, he knocked $100 off his fee, and gave me the Workbook and DVD for free.

His 'bedside' manner was good, no problems with it.

My second and last visit with him was quick -- just 15 minutes, and I was left with some confusion about his directions: To treat the 'rotator cuff" injury with both exercises and TMS journaling.

Other than that, no problems.

In "Cautionary Tale" I see complaints about him.

Has anybody else had a positive experience with him? Please post if so.

I want to mention too that I bumped that post not because I have reason to believe Schecter is bad (I've never met him) ...but just to point out that anyone can misdiagnose and that people need to look at all sides until they, themselves, with all the opinions make a decision. I would never judge a doctor on one case, and I believe that many good doctors with good opinions can still be wrong.
