Hi, Newbie here. I found you guys last week as I was learning all about TMS & my neck was really sore & stiff. Well, I was fired from my job today for doing something wrong that I didn’t know was grounds for firing me. It was very hurtful the way it happened, there were people all around as I’m gathering my things & my boss was going thru my personal binder to make sure I don’t take any confidential things (I eventually took my binder & said, “I will look thru it & find those things.”).

Anyway, I was wondering, I’ve written down my feelings about the situation & wanted to know what the thought is on sending a letter to the members of the board. I totally accept my actions & I am remorseful. I go on to talk about some other things that happened recently that I feel has been unfair. I know it won’t do anything, but it would get it out of my system. Would it be good to send it?

My neck pain is coming back again since being fired & I don’t want to hang on to this. I have a tendency to harbor things, take it personally & not let these feelings go. I have never been fired from a job, I’ve always quit due to stress & the physical damage it was causing to me, but this one hit me from out of the blue.

I worked at an Assisted Living facility where we take care of mostly senior citizens. I have made many friends there & didn't get a chance to say good bye. I am not allowed back there or they will call the police, they made feel like a criminal. There was no warning, it was cut & dry, "We have to let you go."

I am reading Dr. Sarno’s book, “The Mindbody Prescription.” I haven’t gotten very far yet in the book. I would appreciate any advice. You all seem very insightful & very nice & caring for each other.

Thank you in advance for any response.

getting fired is always tough, I know, I've been fired a few times at least. you may be having some tms related anger about it right now but I think that eventually you will see that your job was probably responsible for most of your tms pain, and that you will see a gradual reduction of pain now that you won't have the stress of your job anymore. hang in there!

Thanks for the support scd1833, I really appreciate it. What I am trying not to do is let this fester & cause me more pain.
