not wanting to get physical here, but we have a very strong membraine that encompases out spinal cord and brain. I think and from reading is that when we have pain and quit moving it contracts compressing our nerves and blood flow and causes central nervous system problems also, so by exercising we release it and our muscles and our blood flow and nerves are not squished. Unfortunately its a vicious circle , we dont' want to move when were in pain, so the worst everything becomes, till we become like some of us are, pretty much totally inactive.

Just rambling here. But Sarno is right, and I also do think emotions play a major role, stress, worry, fear etc. So we have HOPE!!!!!!!!

This sounds nice, but is totally incorrect pathophysiologically. The meninges, including the dura, don't move or constrict anything, and are unlikely to play any role in TMS. Not sure where you read anything like that, but it is misinformation.

No sorry it all moves. I didn't mean to sound crass, but every part of our body contracts and expands, and has movement, even the cranial bones.

I hate to invoke greater authority here or start a flame war, but in this case you simply don't know what you are talking about. Just because we routinely talk about things that are outside typical medical thinking on this forum, it doesn't mean that you can make things up out of thin air and say they are medical facts. Well, you can, but you are still wrong.

Well then my osteopath must of been wrong, she said the craniun and everything moves, the head bones constrict and contract with breathing and when you stretch you move the dura which is connected to the skull to the sacrum. when they raised my bite, I could feel the stretch - tightness all the way to my tailbone, then they lower my bite on left side and the tightness then was all on my right side.
