Hello everyone - I have been helped myself so much from this forum- love and peace to all of you- here's to an extrardinarily miraculous 2009 to all!
I am in my mid fifties- I have suffered from fibromyalgia (have those aches and pains under control- though they do raise their ugly heads now and again- (through prayer, positive thinking, TMS techniques, yada yada...they are manageable) I have suffered with sore dry eyes- still battling that- but gets better for periods of time now. Allof the anxiety, aches and pain and sore eyes is TMS- which I totally believe in!!! Now I'd like to ask a question about my beautiful 22 year old daughter. She (like our whole family) has been under severe stress for several years- but this year was a particularly bad one (broke up with boyfriend, dad is terminally ill, senior in college writing her honors thesis) She has also been off and on different birth control pills and a course of accutane over the last few years. While at times she has shed lots of hair, we've never paid much attention because she had so much of it. But this last month it has been falling out in clumps. I can't sleep at night I am so worried. I've done lots of research and there is so much SCARY info out there about alopecia and little hope for treatments. (Some sites even say stress cannot cause hair to fall out) But I also understand some types of hair loss can grow back. Anyway- has ANYONE had hair loss from emotional stress or TMS, Or even medicines like birth control pills or accutane that has grown back????? Could her hair loss be a form of TMS? Any stories (especially positive ones) would help tremendously.
Thank you everyone for being there for all of us.

Stress can cause hair loss, and if its from stress it will come back. Could accutane be causing it I wonder, have her talk to her dermatologist. I don't think its the birth control pills.
what has helped me with dry eyes is Tera Tears Vitamins,(they contain fish oil, flaxseed and vit e). I get them at CVS. |

Stress definitely causes hair loss. Take me for example, when I drink lots of coffee, and I love the stuff, but I lose hair, can definitely tell after showering and my hair dresser notices too. After a while I get sick of the jitters so I quit drinking the go juice and my hair regrows and my hair dresser notices too. TMS in this instance for sure. Is your daughter open to TMS thinking?

One of my friends experienced significant hair loss due to stress. Her doctors could find no other cause. She has a hair weave now. |

I've known 2 people with reversed hair loss. One definitely stress...eliminated when stress died down. The other was a vegan not taking supplements and eating crap. Hair grew back with more varied diet and supplements. Both females in early 20s. |
