I recently met with a Health Professions Adbvisor and I will be taking all the necessary courses needed to apply to Med. School. I'm not sure yet if this is what I want to do, but I want to keep my options open.
I have a passion for TMS and think I could really help people. What exactly is a TMS physician? How many are there in the U.S.? How much money do you think they make?
If I was to help people in the Medical field, I would want to help people with TMS. I would want to raise the awareness of TMS.
I commend you for wanting to do this. It is important to note that going to medical school and doing a residency is an extremely stressful career choice, and lifestyle. I urge you to beat your own TMS first, and become very healthy and then consider crossing the bridge of becoming a TMS doc.
Another option would to become a psychotherapist. A TMS physician will diagnose TMS, but it's the psychotherapist who helps people get better from TMS.
The options of becoming a physician or a psychotherapist are both open at this point. I guess I'll just see how I feel in 2 years as far as dealing with stress.
There's not many TMS physicians in the country, right?
