Help! I just started to post on LuvtoSew's thread about Sarno's theory that stress can lead to infection. I was discussing this on another thread last week and it interests me because I'm a living example of this. I have been plagued my entire life with allergies and sinus issues. Recently I've been pretty sick with a bacterial sinus infection. I tried to Sarnoize it but failed and wound up on Avelox...gawd, is it toxic stuff! It cleared my sinuses, but knocked me flat. I'm on antibiotics about every eight weeks, b/c my sinuses just don't drain, I already had sinus surgery 10 years ago, and I don't tolerate allergy meds very well. It's a constant struggle.
This weekend I was away on what should have been a fabulous trip--and it was in many ways--but as usual, I felt horrible physically, and just to liven up my life, my neck and shoulder pain came back.
On another thread, someone asked how you stave off depression when you're always dealing with symptoms. I wish I knew! I am constantly making a bit of progress only to get slammed again with more physical symptoms. I feel like I have journaled and been analyzed and have meditated and prayed...I can't imagine what else is lingering in my subconscious!
I have also been thinking that maybe all these antibiotics have left a load of lingering toxins in my body. I had been told last year by two doctors that I had fibromyalgia. I didn't believe them then, but now I'm starting to "go there." I'm thinking that maybe I need to do a cleanse, get allergy tested, take allergy shots...but that is focusing on the physical again. Any thoughts? |

Oh its true that stress can cause a lot of physical symptoms, but when someone is in pain its hard not to feel stress. Just an endless cycle.
Do you get a lot of vag infections or crave sugar and carbs, thats a sign of yeast in your system. Try to cut down on sugar and carbs, eat more protein if you are eating alot of sugar and carbs.
I've journaled to my hearts content and remembered a lot of stuff that I had forgotten, but I quit journaling now.
I wish I had some answers, but I know a lot of doctors just label a person with fibro as they don't know what else to do. It just seems like everyone and their brother has a fibro dx now.
I don't know, sometimes I think just getting rid of the internet might be my best solution, way too much info on here. I'm not talking about you, but me, searching on the message boards for some answer to magically appear and cure me.
I remember going through nursing school how we all started feeling like I got this or I might have that, just reading and learning about all the diseases and conditions ya know.
Since I do believe in tms and the stress part of illness and pain, I do find this site helpful as it talks about that, but of late I try not to go to any other message boards anymore- like the tmj one.

Thanks, LTS, and yes, I definitely have yeast issues and small wonder with all the antibiotics. I have been taking acidophilus this week and I recently bought a self-help book full of yeast-busting diets and such. I do feel like my whole physical system needs an overhaul. |

being stronger than the influence of your subconscious mind brings you great strength. i've been in some of the worst pain imaginable and felt fine. there wasn't anything to be afraid of, nothing to obsess about, no work to be done to fix it. relaxation. not like a real injury where you're actually screwed up in some way.
