I've had a strong interest in this and have done a good bit of online reading about it, but have given up trying to find anyone close enough to me who does it. I tried doing EFT on myself after reading about it, but while it was very powerful in giving me insights, it was still too emotionally intense for me to do alone. Apparently, that's not the usual reaction--but I'm hardly ever a "usual" case anyway.
In the meantime, I'm seeing emotional healing and growth in working long-term with a therapist who's a good match for me. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that it's the therapeutic relationship that's most healing for my particular needs and I might feel shortchanged if I "got over" my hangups by some shortcut method. But that doesn't mean everyone is like that. I'm just at peace now that I'm in the right place at the right time and doing what's best for me. |
