So I was doing great with TMS. Was pain free for weeks. Started noticing yesterday my left side of my mid back was tight. So I woke up today fully locked in my back.

Guess TMS isn't fully gone. This time it's taking the wind out of my lungs. Hooray for TMS. Holy crap this is not fun.

Being that it is a new spot doesn't worry me. It feels just like TMS, as I didn't "do" anything to deserve this pain. It's just locked. I always said "I would give anything for the pain to move out of my legs and be NORMAL like all the other "back pain" sufferers".

I got my wish, and yes, this hurts as much if not more.

WOW

Sorry to hear that, Kevin.

Did you "do anything" physically that would have made this happen? If not, remember what Sarno says: take Tylenol or whatever pain meds you have for several days, rest a bit, and try to be easy on yourself. Also of course, try to figure out if anything is bothering you deep down.

Rent some funny movies and try to laugh -- anything that takes your mind off your pain. Try not to concentrate on the pain (that's always the hardest thing for me). Personally I find it hurts less if I put all my energy on thinking about other things, along with exploring my emotional issues.

Gee I hope I didn't sound like i don't feel for you, It is the opposite, I feel what you do exactly. I just seem to get to a point where I laugh it off . Meds can help for a day just so you can rest and really it is all up to how scared you are , move as much as you can only if you know it is TMS so your brain will not play a game on you.
I used to think that spasms=people are stressed out, and now I get them when I'm in my responsibility years, so there you go.
brain=amazing
spasms=yuck

I think therefore I am.

Sounds like you are in the right frame of mind, accepting the pain for what it is, and not allowing fear of structural problems to creep in. This is all you can do in times like this. Your body will take some time to get through it. As long as you keep this attitude and don't let it get the best of you, you'll float through this episode and come out stronger for it. Just one more step in the reconditioning process...

It's funny to see all the responses and realize that the 'spasm' I wrote this topic about, went away the next day after writing it.

But thanks for the feedback peeps.
