What does everyone think about this topic? I am struggling with allergy-related asthma at the moment, and runny/stuffy nose. This is not uncommon for me, but also came on as I eliminated my 4 year-long struggle with back pain through Sarno's techniques. Do you think I should try to combat these symptoms with the TMS strategies too? Have any of you had success doing that? If so, what did it look like for you? I am most concerned about the asthma part - the wheezyness and trouble breathing....my hubby and I are trying to get pregnant and I do not want to be controlled by an inhaler to combat asthma problems while I am pregnant as I know it is not good for the baby.
Thanks all! |

I also wanted to add that, I realize this is ALLERGY season!! And I have seen an allergist and am allergic to tree pollen and ragweed, which are prevalent at this time of year. however, i can't help but wonder about the TMS factor here too... |

i too am getting hit with allergies right now, i'm almost positive are tms. i never used to get them until i exploded with tms symptoms at the end of my high school career. it's got to be tms. dr. sarno himself claims to have gotten rid of seasonal allergies with the tms method.
mine are influenced by my emotional state. they get worse when my self-esteem problems start to manifest themselves and get better when i feel better about myself. they're also affected by other stressors. i'm pretty sure it's tms...
it's really doing a number on me though. being outside is tough. ugh.

I second that. Been dealing with some postnasal drip and possibly some reflux too myself lately that both seem to be contributing to this on/off sore throat that I've been having. It's all TMS though. I know I was sneezing all night last night when my girlfriend forced me out to dinner with some of her friends that I'm not too fond of. My unconscious mind likes to let me know what it's thinking from time to time.
Anyway, I had terrible allergies all throughout college that virtually disappeared when I learned about TMS, so I would just give it some good thought and take it from there. Seasonal allergies are almost definitely TMS and quite manageable as such. Good luck.
Best, MK |

dude. i recognized my allergies as tms and i wasn't getting any better so i went to go skate for a little bit. i felt fine while i was skating but when i came back INSIDE they erupted all over me. it sucked. then i sat down and did that thing where you write letters you're never going to send, right? well, i was writing this one to the girl i'm dating right now and about half way through it my headache and my sinus pressure vanished.
sarno will never cease to amaze me.

My allergies are related to my TMS also. Or they are my TMS. Whatever. When I'm not stressed, anxious, worried, feeling unsafe, I don't have them. When I am, I do. |
