Hi all
It appears that the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge (October 21, 1772 – July 25, 1834), who worked closely with the poet William Wordsworth, suffered from TMS. Take a look at this brief bio-sketch of Coleridge and read of the many sorrows and disappointments he experienced throughout the course of his life: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Taylor_Coleridge
His symptoms included various ailments, including toothache and facial neuralgia, which is a painful disorder of the nerves.See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuralgia
Neuralgia is a form of chronic pain and can be extremely difficult to diagnose. Patients usually show no physical abnormalities.
He took copious amounts of opium in order to reduce his pain - to the point he became an addict - and on July 25, 1834 he died of a lung disorder - including some heart failure - as an outcome of his long opium addiction.
******* Sarno-ize it! Read chapter 4 of Dr. Sarno's "The Divided Mind." Also chapers 3, 4 and 5 in Dr. Scott Brady's "Pain Free For Life" are very important. |
