As I understand TMS has a huge profile, however I never heard whatever I experience is related to this. At least, I never met somebody with a similar problem.
I do have a shoulder and neck stiffness and tension, without any cause, it's just coming and going. Sometimes, suddenly, I can start feel and hear cracking/clicking in my shoulders, elbows and ears. But most bothering thing is my mouth. I can start to feel tension somewhere between my jaws along neck and even tongue, so I have to release it by opening a jaw or sometimes is enough by moving my head down. Recently it's attacking me every single day for a couple of hours... My doctor opinion is DDD in my neck...
Have you ever heard about these symptoms?
Thanks, Julia |

Isn't that TMJ? Sarno talks about TMJ being a manifestation of TMS. The intermittent nature and no obvious cause smells of TMS. |

It sure does sound like TMS, since the symptoms come and go. Especially true if they also move around.

Although I officially had RSI as my main TMS 'symptom', I also had an awful lot of tension and stiffness, mainly in my shoulders and neck - which, as you say, would come and go, often seemingly unconnected to what i was doing. I also found I had a very tight jaw. Quite frequently during the day I would notice that I was holding it very tense and would try to relax it, but it would keep coming back. I would wake up in the morning with my jaw very tight.
Your symptoms do sound very TMS-like. I know Sarno mainly talks about pain, but there are others here who have had more tension / stiffness than pain and I think it is the same thing. |

If you do a search on TMJ I and others have recounted our success stories with it.
Love is the answer, whatever the question |
