Hi all,
I've just joined this forum and am finding it all a bit overwhelming - where do I start to read?? I have the usual long term RSI story, very similar to Nate McNamara, except instead of Suparna I spent 5 months at RECOUP in India (it's all in my profile anyway). I'm still only slightly better, still not working, but I feel hope for the first time. I've been reading Sarno for the last 3 months but only recently stumbled on Nate, Rachel, Tar Pit Yoga etc. It was Nate's story that has helped the most.

I have a few questions. Is there a support group/website/info list for Sarno/TMS devotees in the UK? Are there updates on Nate and Rachel anywhere as those stories are quite old? And is this forum the only place where newer success stories can be found?

Finally, HI to everyone out there. Please give me any kind of positive feedback you can :) and forgive me if I've asked stupid newbie questions answered before.

Try searching on the topics you are interested in. It doesn't matter when they were posted if they are relevant to what you are dealing with. Lots of people from the UK post here... Just keep reading and exploring the forum, you will figure it out. Good Luck - mabbott

Hi Debs,

Welcome to the forum.

Click on my profile to see my RSI success story. Do feel free to contact me.

Also, on 1st March, there will be the RSI Awareness Day in London, when we hope to do a stall or talk on Sarno.

Hi Hilary, thanks, I will come along to the awareness day. Is there a regular support group for believers in TMS in London? Or indeed a UK based support group? If not, I'm thinking of starting one up. I've spent a lot of time on the RSI-UK mailing list and went to last year's awareness day (where I talked to Harriet Young and Sarah Fishers about Sarno) but I think this company sets me back as I hear so much stuff about physical treatment and how RSI is incurable :( I think meeting other people who are positive they have TMS and believe they can get better would be far more helpful.

Hi,

I'm from the UK as well. Sarno worked for my RSI - I had it very bad indeed but it's now pretty much gone. I've done it without doctors, occupational therapists, weird mice, posture devices, yoga or any other exercises.

I don't really like the idea of support groups - the only way to beat this thing it is to keep reading the books until you *really* understand them, then get on with your life.

I do like the idea of spreading the word about this cure though, and I'll certainly be looking at putting some resources into that over the next few years.

Hi debs - I am also from the UK - and living in brighton which i'm guessing from your username you might be as well?

I would be up for any sort of tms-awareness-raising thing. I am a journalist and was thinking I would like to see if I can get an article in the nationals about it at some point. But for the moment I am steering clear of journalism so it wouldn't be for a while.

I found the RSI success stories on here very helpful, and also chatting to Hilary ( thanks hilary!). it was helpful to find other people from the UK who had had the same experience, as there seems to be more knowledge about TMS in the US.

Do get in touch if you want to talk more - I am still working on recovery but a hell of a lot better than I was so maybe my story would be helpful to hear.

Hi debs,

Definitely have hope. Just in the last year and a half on the forum many have come in with RSI issues and many have left pain-free or nearly so. My SuccessStory should be around here somewhere, I think Dave moved it to the Success Stories forum.

It's not 100% belief that's required, but 100% commitment.

Hi Debs,

No, there's no regular support group. 3 of us met up in London in May for a drink - that's the closest we've come to a support group!

You two Brightoners should definitely get together.

Hi,
so glad to hear from all of you! Thanks. I'm finding the success stories more helpful than the books right now having read them a LOT over the last few months :)
