Nobody on this board will do ANYTHING to help you. People here can only advise through their experience of TMS. If you choose to take the advise that is up to you. People can only lead a horse to water. Joining this forum everyday and obsessing over TMS is not the same as TREATING TMS. If you are here for reassurance, you will further continue the pain cycle, as you will be dependent on others to give you warm fuzzy felling or a stark kick in the butt. You either do the work for TMS, or you don't. There is nothing wrong with asking questions and is absolutely necessary. What you do with the answers though is up to you. And remember, you and only you can get you through this. The only "other" person possibly being a therapist if you choose to go that route. Being that TMS is theorized to be a distraction, know that because your are prone to distractive/avoidance behavior, this forum has a high probability of being another form of distraction. It is up to you to decide if this is the case. If you decide that it is, please for your own good do not come here anymore.

Sometimes looking inside your mind to see what is there is a dark lonely place. Nobody here can hold your hand through the process, we can only listen and that itself my be to our detriment. This is a road you must, in the end, take by yourself and for yourself. TMS work is not meant to be your "thing" or an identity, but for many it seems it has. Obsessing about TMS and the ins and outs are interesting, but they are NOT healing, NOT positive for you, NOT productive, NOT emotion based, NOT going to do squat for you.

This post applies to everyone and applies to no one.

Here, I'll cut all the bull**** because I'm not into flame wars on forums or silly games.

I wrote that post because I care about peoples wellness. I didn't care about the tone of it because there is a secondary group/type of people which I don't really care much for when they post. But being that I don't want to start drama and name names I made a vague sweeping post. So let's see here....caring, for one group/type..coupled with extreme hostility toward another group/type.

So I got a little harsh. Trust me, at the moment I was feeling what I felt, I consider what I wrote tame compared to what I was thinking. Truth is, there are a lot of posts here that make me angry, so once in a while I'll be brutally honest when I feel like my eyes have seen enough. That's my best answer Stryder, without going into specifics. I also feel that what I said is quite pertinent. So disregarding the "tone" of it, it stands up to my litmus test. If you disagree with the CONTENT of what I said, please feel free to discuss it.

Hi la_kevin,

I didnt see anything wrong about your _tone_ at all. I was just curious what prompted the post, thats it. Nothing against the horse, he gets led there all the time as we both have seen time and time again.

Take care, -Stryder

Sorry man. I'm a bit defensive today and shouldn't really be typing to the public. I'm gonna chill a bit and just take a breather.

Kevin - I think your comment is excellent. I've been thinking about the same thing, maybe not quite as intensely as you have been, but the same thoughts. My doctor has a poem on his wall that says "It must be the strength of the traveler, and not that of the guide that makes the journey successful". (Or something to that effect) I think it is a very easy thing to say, and so much more difficult to put into practice... especially when you are down and desperately looking for strength. It's so natural to look to others, and to use a forum like this for support.

But we would all do well to remember that while others can help us regain perspective from time to time, and help us to look in the right directions, in the end the strength to heal must come from within.

In my opinion, your posting was well said, and timely.
