Sorry guys....I don't like using the forum as a medical resource, and yet this is the second time in just a couple of months...
I notice my feet and lower legs swell, especially after sitting and most especially when it's hot and humid...I'd had this off and on for a couple of years now...
I'm in excellent shape for a guy of 56...run or bike for an hour or two almost every single day...have no heart problems or kidney problems that I know about..My weight is normal.
Anybody have any suggestions?
BY the way, for those who were good enough to take an interest in my raw and painful chest situation, here's the story....
I finally went to my m.d. as it was pretty painful..She asked me a bunch of questions and seemed stumped...Suddenly it dawned on me...Here we go again, back in the doctor's office with whacko symptoms that make no sense..What else could it be but TMS...Since that day I've gradually gotten better... |

Hi Art, Sorry to hear about this.. I had Googled swollen fingers and found an article about walkers experiencing this in hot weather.. Perhaps it can happen in the lower extremities as well, when excercising outside.. How is your salt intake? That could be an issue as well.. try also laying down with several pillows under your knees and feet.. Hope it clears up soon.. Hugs, Karen |

If TMS can reduce blood flow, then mild edema would not be out of teh question. |

Hi Art. Ya know, the longer I've been doing this, the more it occurs to me that there are very few conditions/maladies/symptoms that TMS doesn't cover. Even something normal like swollen feet can become painful, discomfort to a TMSer because our subconscious mind is so afraid that (blank) might get our attention.
I went to buy some shoes the other day .. I do it every 3 years whether I need them or not.
I found 2 pairs that were sooo comfortable.Felt like I had worn them for months on the first try.
Than, the next morning....they were waaay too big?? They felt like clown shoes
I am on my feet every day for hours and hours. I have heard that your feet are supposed to be bigger at the end of the day (and that we're shorter too!) I've always noticed that my socks feel really tight around my ankles at the end of the day... I just have really narrow ankles so that particular deal has never joined my repertoire, though I'm sure now that we've discussed it I'll wake up with Shaq's feet tommorow
Is it painful? Is it bugging you, like making your shoes uncomfortable?
Since last on the forum I have been treated for High Blood pressure (gone) Asthma (gone) Chest Pain (gone) Lymph Node issues (running joke)...uhh...that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I got the high BP right after I read a bunch of posts about Blood pressure. I had the chest pain right after my wife went through a long series of chest pain related hospital visits....
Like I said..the Nocebo is strong with me
But...yes, my feet do swell...should I be worried? (just kidding)

Hi Art,
I get swollen ankles and have found correlation with stressors and TMS. I used to be prone to UTI's and found these AZO home UTI test strips so I didn't have to go the doc for more tests. If you don't think you have a urinary tract infection, could you be a bit dehydrated? Maybe drink a little more water than you usually do and see if this changes things.
I've been under a more stress than normal the past week and my puffy feet and ankles are working overtime to try to distract me.
All the best!
