I am looking for the phone number to get in touch with Dr. Sarno.

For all of you who contacted him, please help! Can you speak with him personaly? I would like to talk to him regarding my condition.

Thanks for all your help!

Sarno accepts calls from prospective patients. If you are not in the New York area, or not interested in scheduling an appointment, I'm afraid you won't be able to speak to him. However, he has a reputation of responding to letters.

Toronto,
I believe Sarno's number is 212-263-6035. If this is incorrect do a Google search with Sarno Rusk Institute.

I called a few weeks ago and got only a machine stating if you were out of state you should write to him. I tried e-mail and never got a response. A few days ago I wrote him a letter. I am hopeful he will write back.

Good luck

I suggest that you do not call if you are out of state, as you will simply be wasting his secretary's time. Write a letter instead.

There's probably not that much that Dr. Sarno could tell you in person that isn't contained in his books and videos. And there are other TMS doctors available to you listed here:

Dr. Marc Sopher (http://www.tms-mindbodymedicine.com/)kindly replied to an e-mail I sent him within 24 hours at this address:

I wrote to Dr. Sarno a few years ago and the reply letter from his secretary stated to call on specific days at specific times. I did and got to speak to him. He is a wonderful man.

My letter from his office was from March of 2001. When I called, I was asked my name as though I was on some kind of pre-list and then he was put on the phone. So I do think you must write to him first.
The letter says to call him Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Again, I must urge people not to call his office if you are outside of New York or do not wish to set up an appointment with him, unless you write a letter first and receive explicit permission. His secretary is a very nice lady and will try to be accomodating, but at the same time she has a job to do. Dr. Sarno has a very explicit policy that he only speaks with patients or prospective patients.

Thanks for the clarifications Molomaf and Dave. I thought for a moment there, that, the good doctor, entertained questions at certain hours from non-patients. I won't try calling him. Maybe those who do talk with and see him, can post their experiences.
