I am in the horse business and run an auction twice a year. The onset of my big back attack occured before the last auction in March and my newest auction was this past weekend. It's a very stressful time for me(lots of responsibility coupled with some very strange people)and I was wondering how I would make it thru. Tom's post about the squirmy gremlin made me think about addressing this issue. For the last two or three weeks, I could really feel the old gremlin trying to rear it's head. Lots of mild equivalent symptoms that were really pretty easy to dissipate. I was really proud of myself this past week because I really felt great. I even slept good which is a feat in itself. During the auction a man that was a total conehead was really giving me a hard time. All of a sudden I had some terrible back spasms that were all too familiar. If this would have been 8 months ago I'm sure I would have been on the ground. I, of course, knew the cause and was sure I would be ok. I excused myself and left the crowd for about 5 minutes. Me and the gremlin had a little talk and I returned to the sale and moved around as if nothing was wrong. It took about 15 minutes for all the pain to leave. I guess the point I want to make is to acknowledge what a gift the good doctor has given us. I have proven to myself once again that most of the junk we have is tms and it is all very fixable. I know that so many of you, like me, have suffered so needlessly thru the years. I have realized this year that tms can cause me to limit my life only to the extent that I permit. We can let the gremlin whittle our lives down to nothing or fight with the tools we have been given and open the boundries to infinity.
