I am a Sarno believer and have been reading his books, following his advice and journaling for close to three weeks. (I know, an infant, right?)I feel like I am visiting places in my memory where I haven't been in a long, long time. Emotional crap EVERYWHERE! Now my head is messed up with all that and my back hurts just as bad, if not worse and things are hurting that never hurt b4. I guess this has to get worse b4 it gets better? I kind of feel like I might snap any minute.
TT - I now have TDM and I am reading it. Thanks for the advice.

This topic is very popular and has been covered several times since I am here ( I am quite new...) If your body is responding to your knowledge therapy, thinking and journaling, you are definitely on the right path. If the symptoms intensify, it is their way of trying to intimidate you from pursuing this treatment any further. Of course, the correct thing to do is take heart in this experience and know that you are soon going to break through on the other side. This is an experience that most of us have shared and we all know how you feel.. Keep up the good work! - Sensei

Relax LB, you do NOT have to dig up all the crap in your life to earn or deserve to be pain free. You are doing this to yourself albeit your unconscious gremlin-"you" is doing it to you. I'm just shooting in the dark here, but maybe your Puritan-"you" feels you need to work really hard at this to earn your freedom from TMS indenturship pain. That's doing it the hard way. If you read what the Good Doctor says, that is not necessary. All you have to do is learn the rules of the TMS game--understand how the TMS process works. You don't have to punish and beat yourself up, that was the Freudian way of thinking that psychosmatic pain was a punnishment. Thanks to Dr. Sarno, we have taken a great leap forward in psychology and view TMS pain as a protection from feeling anti-social rage. Your TMS symptom is trying to protect you from something that you can handle head-on.

Stop sifting through all your crap unless you feel you don't deserve to be pain-free without doing a lot of penance. You are giving yourself an over-use injury of your gray-matter through all this overthinking. Keep reading your Sarno especially the parts about how the process works, the chapters on TMS theory.

You are the scientific proof here and now that the mind can create psychosomatic TMS pain. You havn't experienced any new injury symptoms through trauma have you? So all these new symptoms are being created by your mind. You are proving the symptom imperative.

You've been at it a very short time. Many here have suffered TMS pain for decades not knowing that it was TMS. Give it a little time and sleep on it. You're on the right track!

Your signature quote has me wondering if you enjoy suffering? Or feel angry at all the codependent help you've given others without thanks. Just in case you need more crap to unearth.

(Just kidding - congratulations for rolling away the rock at all!)

Love is the answer, whatever the question
