I curious if anyone has been successful using hypnosis to help implant Sarnos concepts at the subconcious level.Such as "Talking to your Brain"about sending more oxygen to the effected muscle and tissues. Sarno also mentions in one of his books about the "Soothe to Pain Ratio, where enough "good feelings" can cancell out TMS symptoms. Hypnosis could be helpful here as well.
I used a hypnotherapy tape--one to create a trance state, one with TMS language on it--and it was helpful but not the cure-all I'd hoped for. I'm having a bit more luck with the Sedona method which deals with emotional release head-on.
I am curious if hypnosis can be beneficial . not for a cure-all or anything . I think that's unrealistic. But for helping change my thinking patterns... for instance implanting the suggestion - when I feel physical pain I will immediately think psychological.
The question of using hypnosis comes up from time to time on this board. I recently asked the same question you're asking and went so far as to look for someone skilled in hypnosis. My pain dissolved before I started any hypnosis.
It's easy to get distracted from the basic anti-TMS principals even when you're looking to bolster those principals. My own experience is that sticking to the basics, especially focusing on emotions, provides the quickest relief.
