Hey all just a little update.
So I have been virtualy pain free from tms since October. I have had flare ups in my groin, hips but I called Sarno and he assured me they were all tms.
I have since started a new job and now Iam in my 3rd week and I have the same pains I had when it first started basically in the chest rib and back area.
For 3 days I have been thinking about what it could be an reassuring myself that its tms.
On top of that Iam taking a personal training course and I am learning in diffrent chapters about structural damage etc.
I know from my experience that the things they list that can go wrong with the body are 90 percent tms.
For instance they tell you somebody has to work out a certain way to avoid more back pains etc.
I know its all bullcrap and this is honestly the arrpoach I take.
But lately my mind has been trying to trick me into believing this way.
So my question is how do I complete this training course with all its structural faults and problems and still come out clean and know in the back of my head tms is the culprit?
Thanks
D

congrats! But how did you get a hold of Sarno on the phone? Are you a patient of his? They would'nt patch me thru to him since I don't live in NYC. They said I could correspond w/ letter, but I've read here that he can't get into it in correspondence for ethical reasons anyways.

Hi Skizzik,

I've never heard that here, but maybe I missed it, while arguing politics. I've corresponded with the Good Doctor but it was a few years back and maybe the lawyers have gotten' to him. He doesn't e-mail but, as far as I know, does answer by mail.

I can see why he would not be able to answer a question specificaly without an examination, testing, and viewing your images, but general TMS questions should be ok. If what you have is TMS, then a general answer should suffice, since TMS is part of the human condition.

All you can do is try, so write him and let us know what happpens. And if he replies you can frame his letter and it will be of some value after he wins his Noble Prize.

Regards,
tt

Well, what job did you take? How long were you at your old job? Did you like your old job, how about the new job?

I ask this because changing jobs can cause TMS symptoms to flare up. I recently just happened to me. It's hard to leave the comfort of one job, where you knew what you were doing, you know how much tie each task took and it was easy to plan and schedule your day. Now you take on a new job and you don't have that ease, and if your a goodist, you may be second guessing yourself, wondering if your catching on quick enough, constantly monitoring your performance, etc. Is this training course part of your new job?

Hey thanks for the reply.
Well I was unemployed for awhile. Yea I notice myself sort of kissing up to the manager so I can be taken seriously.
Its seems like everytime I try and do something right its not notice or that nobody is there to see it, but when someone who never does anything finally does something a higher up always happens to walk in unexpected.
Its wierd but yea I was going to start my own business but decided otherwise because I didnt feel ready.
I have stopped seeing my therapist around the same time I got the job and I called her back up today because I havent had this problem in a while.
I guess iam back to journaling fulltime again. I feel as though I need to talk about my new job and how much Iam disgusted.
Anyway thanks for the input I felt like I was okay at the job but now I see

Perhaps it may also be helpful to write out on the board some of your feelings about the job abd others may be able to offer insights based on their personal experiences.

A new job is most certainly stressful and there are expectations placed on you and you want to do a good job and make a good impression. Try to think a long these lines. Where you ever fired in the past or harshly criticized on the job? Did your parents push you to achieve? Just asking?

Yes, Dr. Sarno does correspond, but understandably can't diagnose by mail. Give it a go, his replies will be brief and to the point.

Good Luck,

Yeah, starting a new job can be stressful, especially after being unemployed. Definetly sounds like this job is causig some pressure on you, maybe you want to do pefect and if someone sees you make an error, it threatens your self worth. If you feel shame from the error, that maybe something for you to look into as well. My dad was critical of me, so that was something I always faced, and didn't realize it, but there's just something about learning truth and the root of TMS. Knowledge is what sets you free.
