My friend has been diagnosed with having Gout ( in his feet ). He's been taking meds and such but it comes back after a while each time.

It seems to be some form of a rheumatic disease, and also chronic. Now i'm just wondering is Gout in anyway related to TMS symptoms? Or is truly an illness?

Thanks for your input.

From Wikipedia it looks like it is a blood/gut/kidney chemistry/function disorder, very specific, with its own definitive diagnostic test, and quite different from TMS. I don't recall Sarno ever mentioning it as related.

It would not suprise me if Gout (which shows up as symptoms in the feet) may be a TMS equivalent, but at the momement there has been nothing written on it and it is important to take the prescribes meds and follow the necessary dietary restrictions in order to control it.

No harm in turning your friend on to TMS, and having them add it to their preventative medicine cabinet. Sarno speculates that the mind can influence almost any "dis-ease" including auto-imune and cancer. Wouldn't hurt to throw it in the mix while also following the traditional approach.
