I worked Dr. Sarno's program about 10 years ago for low back pain. After working the program I was pain free for years. I had a few attacks throughout the years but they always went away when I re read the books and worked the program.

However after a brief hospital stay for another issue I started having low back pain in the hospital. I knew this was probably from stress and anger so I was not worried. I have been home from the hospital for 6 days now and the low back pain is not getting any better. Stiffness, pain when I stand up or sit too long. I am also tilting to one side when I stand or walk.
ALso I wake up in the middle of the night with muscle spasms.

I know deep down its TMS however for some reason I am not making any progress. I have re read the books made a new list of mental issues even started exercising but to no avail.

I do not understand why my brain will not let up on this accute attack on my lower back?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Joe

I am in the same boat! I was "cured" for 10 years too but as you get older I think it just get's that much harder. Instead of back, neck and the usual problems the equvilants really kick in. I am having big foot problems myself for the past few years now with bgreat uncertiancy.

Maybe the stay in the hospital caused you some tension. If yo were off work, maybe you worried about not being able to work, maybe you were losing money, maybe you have a large hospital bill, etc. I don't know why you were in the hospital and what dilemma happened there. Maybe you feel shame from something. What was going on in your life? What pressures are you dealing with?

This is all happening in your internal self and the pressures you feel.

BTW, I'm from Dayton Ohio, not sure if you from Ohio. Hope you feel better soon.

2 scoops I am from the Akron Ohio area. I made a list of the changes in my life that caused this tms attack.
1) Hospital Stay (All is well just colitis) tms???
2). Oldest son moved back home for his senior year in College after being gone 3 years.
3). Normal work pressures nothing really changed on that front.
I actually forced myself to ride my stationary bick this morning for 45 minutes for a workout. Still in pain but the pain is no worse.
4). I am accepting the pain and trying to think mental.
5: I am in my car a lot for work so I am yelling at my brain while driving hope it starts to work.

THanks
Joe
