I tried to see him but he had a very long waiting list. He did, however, take the time to call and talk with me several times. He gave me the name of a biofeedback therapist who unfortunately also had no openings. |

Did he seem good? I live in MA and I wonder if it is worth getting on his mailing list.
I live in eastern MASS so Boston is not too far away, but still it seems ridiculous that in basically the health care capitol of the US (pretty much) there is only one TMS therapist around. They have everything else you could ask for. If you want EFT you can get it for sure. It is so annoying.
If you no one of anyone else, please advise. A TMS psychiatrist would be fine too.
Thanks, Jane |

Sorry, just saw this post. I worked with Dr. Seigel in the early 1990's. I was referred to him by Dr. Sarno when I didn't get better after attending his program in NY. Dr. Seigel was very helpful--I saw him for a couple of years and by the end was pretty much pain-free. You can find some of my older posts here by searching my screen name or Dr. Seigel. You can get a good idea of Dr. Seigel's approach by reading his book "Back Sense". As I found, sometimes there's no subsitute for some good talk therapy. I agree, it does seem strange that there is only one TMS therapist in the Boston area. However, you can make do with others. When I had a relapse in 2000, Dr. Seigel had relocated his practice to Lincoln and it was just not possible for me to see, him. I found a therapist more locally who was receptive to the TMS concept and worked with her, with good results. As long as the therapist is receptive to the idea, a good therapist can help you do the emotional work even if he or she is not a TMS expert.
