I have been off the bord for some time (though I have been reading it from time to time). Itīs now summer in Denmark and my pain (was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and had bad pain for 10 years) is so much better though not 100% gone. But it really doesnt bother me and I am not afraid of it. Thats a great progress! I can bike and type and walk as much as I want. The pain never stops me. I have written before about my fatigue (which is so much harder to get rid of) and wonder if anyone (there are quite a lot of new people on the board -and thats good!) have had any progress with this symptom. It still frightens me because it really ruins my life sometimes -I have tried hard to treat it the way I treat the pain -but with no success. I have been to a doctor and checked my thyroid and blood etc. And the results was good.

Assuming you have ruled out any serious medical problem (and it sounds like you have) all you can really do is stay the course and take a long-term view.
It seems the fatigue may be more successful than the pain at grabbing your attention, so it continues. Or, maybe there are still unresolved psychological issues that you are unaware of. Either way the approach is the same: ignore it as best you can and confront your "demons."
What things do you find that you simply cannot do while you feel this fatigue? Fight back and do those things. Exercise, bike, take a walk, even when you are feeling tired. Send a message to yourself that you won't allow it to control you. |

Dear Ksjsa,
Sorry to hear that you still feel fatigue. Since this board is about TMS, I will try to give a TMS oriented answer. The fatigue STARTS in your mind and works it's way out to your body. My guess is that it's oriented around not having a strongly defined "raison d'etre". I suspect you are having much psychological ambivalence as to where you want to go with your life. Perhaps you have too many choices causing paralysis of action thus fatigue. Sounds like you may be stuck. Can you make a list of things that you would like to do if you weren't tired? Or are you so overwhelmed by thinking about the fatigue that you can't even think about what you would like to do? I suggest you read this board everyday, morning and night to remind you that the fatigue is TMS and originates in your mind and is sent out from there to your body. If you stick with it long enough you can de-condition your mind. As you have experienced, you drifted away from the board and TMS thinking and the fatigue has returned. The TMS gremlin is a sneaky bastard. |

Actually the fatigue never went away. I have never been free from it. But thank you for your comments!
